Our Services
Safe, quality care just for kids
At Kind Kids Dental, our top priority is to compassionately provide high-quality, safe, and effective dental care for children. We understand that parents are increasingly concerned about what products are used for their children’s care, and we offer a range of options to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
A whole body, holistic approach
We emphasize educating patients and parents on their options for treatment and materials, including BPA free fillings, enamel remineralization, sedation dentistry, and alternatives to sedation where indicated. We believe that good oral hygiene habits are crucial for maintaining healthy teeth and gums, and we strive to help our patients develop these habits from an early age. We invite you to come and visit our office, meet our team, and learn more about the services we offer to help your child achieve a lifetime of oral health and happy experiences at the dentist.

First dental visit
The main goal of a child’s first dental visit is to introduce them to the dental environment to build trust and prevent future anxieties. This initial appointment often takes place around the time the child turns one year old or shortly after their first tooth erupts. Dr. Kasey will perform a gentle knee-to-knee exam while the child sits comfortably on a parent’s lap. This quick check allows him to look for early signs of decay, assess the development of the jaws and teeth, and ensure everything is progressing as expected. The appointment will also include a brief cleaning or polish, fluoride application, and dedicated time to provide the parent with essential oral hygiene education.
We take a gentle, whole-body approach to pediatric dentistry, nurturing your child’s overall health with every visit.

Special needs dentistry
At Kind Kids Dental, we believe every child deserves a comfortable and positive dental experience. We are proud to offer specialized care for children with special healthcare needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, as well as patients with sensory sensitivities or developmental differences.
Our approach to special needs dentistry: We are committed to creating a calming, predictable, and supportive environment tailored to your child's unique requirements, including:
-
Customized appointments
We work closely with parents to understand your child’s specific triggers, preferences, and comfort techniques. Appointments can be scheduled during quieter times of the day to minimize sensory overload.
-
Sensory accommodations
We utilize a variety of tools and techniques to help manage sensory input such as noise-canceling headphones, weighted blankets, and sunglasses. We also offer tell-show-do methods and social stories to clearly communicate the steps of the visit.
-
Behavior guidance
Our team is trained in non-aversive behavior management techniques, focusing on positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement to build trust and cooperation over time.
-
Sedation options
For necessary procedures, or when anxiety is severe, we offer various levels of sedation (such as nitrous oxide/laughing gas or general anesthesia) in conjunction with an anesthesiologist, ensuring the highest level of safety and comfort.
We look forward to partnering with you to establish a foundation for great oral health for your child. Please call us to discuss how we can specifically accommodate your family’s needs.
Nutritional counseling
What your child eats has a profound impact on the health of their teeth — often in ways that surprise parents. At Kind Kids Dental, nutritional guidance is woven into every new patient visit because we believe prevention starts long before a child sits in the dental chair.
We discuss not just the obvious culprits like candy and juice, but also the less-discussed factors: the frequency of snacking, the oral impact of starchy processed foods, the role of saliva in protecting enamel, and the connection between gut health and oral health. We recommend foods that support proper muscle development of the jaw and face — a foundation that matters for breathing, chewing, and long-term orthodontic health.
Our nutritional conversations are practical, non-judgmental, and tailored to your child’s age and eating habits. We’re not here to overhaul your family’s diet — we’re here to give you the specific information that makes the biggest difference for your child’s teeth.
Sedation
Some children need a little extra support to receive dental care safely and comfortably. That is not a reflection of parenting — it is simply biology and developmental stage. Sedation, when used appropriately, allows us to provide complete, high-quality care while keeping your child calm, comfortable, and safe.
At Kind Kids Dental, we offer three levels of sedation:
-
Nitrous Oxide
The mildest option, administered through a small nose mask. Nitrous takes effect within minutes and wears off completely before you leave the office. It is safe, effective, and appropriate for children with mild to moderate anxiety or those who need help staying still during longer procedures. Nitrous is administered by our clinical team.
-
Quick sedation
For limited procedures like a single tooth extraction where a child's anxiety or behavior makes treatment difficult, we offer a quick sedation option that goes beyond nitrous without requiring full general anesthesia or intubation. This is performed with an anesthesiologist present.
-
In-office general anesthesia sedation
For children who require extensive treatment, are very young, or have medical or behavioral needs that make other approaches inadequate, we offer in-office general anesthesia administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist — not by the dentist. This is the highest level of safety we can offer, and it allows us to complete all necessary treatment in a single appointment rather than multiple traumatic visits.
We never recommend sedation unless it is genuinely in your child’s best interest. We will always explain the reasoning behind any recommendation and answer your questions fully before you make a decision.
At Kind Kids Dental, we believe every child deserves a comfortable and positive dental experience.
Dental sealants
One of the most effective tools in preventive pediatric dentistry is Dental Sealants. These are thin, protective coatings painted onto the chewing surfaces of your child’s back teeth (molars and premolars). These teeth naturally have deep pits and grooves—tiny crevices where food particles and cavity-causing bacteria love to hide, and where even a toothbrush bristle struggles to reach.
Sealants work by literally sealing off these vulnerable areas, creating a smooth, durable barrier that shields the enamel from acids and plaque. By preventing decay before it starts, sealants can protect your child’s teeth for many years and dramatically reduce the need for fillings later on!
The quick and painless application process:
Getting dental sealants is a simple, comfortable, and non-invasive procedure—there’s no drilling, no shots, and no discomfort for your child. It is often completed in just a few minutes per tooth during a routine check-up:
-
Cleaning
The tooth surface is thoroughly cleaned to remove any plaque or debris.
-
Preparation
The area is dried, and a mild acidic solution (etching gel) is applied to the chewing surface. This step gently roughens the enamel to help the sealant bond securely.
-
Rinsing and Drying
The etching gel is rinsed off, and the tooth is dried again until it is completely ready for the sealant material.
-
Application
The liquid sealant is carefully painted onto the pits and grooves of the tooth. The liquid flows deep into the crevices.
-
Curing
A special curing light (like a blue flashlight) is shined on the sealant for a few seconds to instantly harden the material into a strong, protective shield.
Once applied, the sealant is ready to protect your child’s smile immediately! We recommend sealants for permanent molars as soon as they fully erupt, typically around ages 6 and 12.
Growth and development
The jaw, airway, and bite develop rapidly during childhood — and what happens during those critical years has lifelong implications for how a child breathes, sleeps, chews, and looks. At Kind Kids Dental, growth and development assessment is not an afterthought. It is a core part of every checkup.
At each visit, Dr. Kasey evaluates:
-
Jaw growth and facial symmetry
-
Eruption sequence and timing of baby and permanent teeth
-
Spacing and alignment that may indicate future orthodontic needs
-
Oral habits such as thumb sucking, pacifier use, or tongue thrusting that can affect development
-
Signs of airway concerns, including mouth breathing, snoring, or narrow palate
-
Tongue and lip tie that may impact feeding, speech, or development
When we identify a concern, we explain it clearly and discuss whether watchful waiting, intervention, or referral is the right next step. Early assessment does not always mean early treatment — but it does mean nothing gets missed.
